One thousand years after the apocalyptic fall of the Forefathers’ civilization, humanity ekes out a living in a fractured and fantastical world. Clinging to their isolated cities, the survivors shun the Forefathers’ knowledge, their works, and their magic, but whispers spread of a mystical site at the world’s end known as Bealtaine: the last true remnant of the Forefathers.
Despite the oppressive society of her homeland, Adalaide (Ada) Gwyn never lost her sense of wide-eyed whimsy. One day, Ada meets Quincy, a sorcerer jaded by years spent as an outcast. She decides to risk it all, leaving behind the world she knows to travel with Quincy in a hunt for Bealtaine.
What starts as an alliance of convenience sprouts into something deeper as the two realize they are more alike than would first appear. They travel through a surreal land full of dangerous monsters and other humans seeking Bealtaine for their own ends. These trials push Ada and Quincy to the absolute limit, forcing them to consider the core of their desire and what they would do to obtain it.

But from the vast and incomprehensible alien biosphere, to the oppressive climate, to the microbes in the very air, Paradise is utterly hostile to its new human colonists.
Two ecologists, Lilith and Alder, along with their protector, Kilik, are sent on a mission that may secure the colony’s future, but misfortune strands them in the wilderness. To survive, the three must set aside their preconceived notions and adapt to an environment that was never meant for them.
